I had a large grouper in one of my saltwater fish tanks in my home. well the Fish got too big for the tank and I didn't know what to do with him and I surely didn't want to kill him. then one of my friends mentioned sea base and I couldn't believe this place actually existed especially in my own state! I gave them a call they were very informative and gave me all the right information that I needed they said they would be able to accept and adopt my fish and put him in one of their bays called the abyss said he will be taken care of and loved for as long as they can house him for which I thought was just wonderful to be able to release your fish back into a semi wild environment and have the option to possibly come back and swim with your once loved pet is just amazing if you are like most people in Utah you are sheltered and you haven't left the state if you would like to experience a saltwater marine life style and go snorkeling this place is a for sure win. Thank you see base for everything that you've done and I'm glad this little gem and piece of paradise exists

We were not there for scuba but for the Shine Festival... It's was cool for an open field.

Great getaway for Scuba diving. People are very friendly.

Fish are awesome they swim right up to you!

I'm giving it a star for the friendly staff, but wish we would have passed on the rest. We did our scuba certification in "the abyss." I'm not a total adrenaline junkie like my crazy husband, but I'm not a wimp and I love snorkeling and water. The visibility was so bad in that hole, it was a murky blackout. It was like being in an underwater horror movie for me. If you have any anxiety about scuba in dark water, descending straight down in a narrow black tunnel or are claustrophobic at all, take my advice and don't do this to yourself. You can barely see to the end of your own arm. If you look down, there is only blackness-you can't even see your own feet as you move down along the mossy rope. All the bubbles and muck churned up from below add extra eeriness and gross factor. I saw a few little mollies on the platform at 20 feet, but it was honestly very hard to distinguish them from the chunks of stuff coming up from the bottom. It was a nightmare experience for me and would never go back. It was literally the most anxiety I have ever felt and I was an ER nurse for 8 years. I wish someone would have warned me. Honestly, I'm sorry to discourage business for the owners, but if reading this makes you nervous at all, you REALLY should go do your dive certification somewhere else.
